2015 Highly Commended

The pony of Luskentyre, Isle of Harris

Luskentyre is without question my
favourite beach in the whole of the
UK, with the brightest white sand,
contrasting with the deep green sea
and peaty brown water of the river
at low tide. The white ponies which
roam the beach and dunes add a
fascination to this already magical
landscape, they just seem to belong
there.

After the storm has passed, Uig Bay, Isle of Lewis

Having spotted Uig Lodge commanding the view over the
stunning white sands of Uig bay, I waited several days for the
perfect conditions, as a heavy winter storm cleared through
over the Uig hills, and bright light returned to the white sands.
The sunbeam picking out the lodge was the defining moment.

Heading home, the Little Minch from Neist point

As is often the case with landscape photography, I didn’t go to Neist Point on Skye with this shot in mind. The patches of bright light bursting through the clouds
casting a spotlight near a fishing trawler heading home to port. Althou
