-9C Freezing fog and hoar frost totally encrusted these characterful birch trees with ice, creating this wonderful scene.

Glen Affric, Ancient Caledonian Forest

Freezing fog lingered on the northern side of the glen and shortly after the sun had broken the ridge line, it backlit this incredible array of frosty Scots Pine and birch; a perfect melody of the Ancient Caledonian Forest.
