Stuart Lamont

Scotts Monument, Edinburgh

It was a particularly busy day in Edinburgh
when I arrived, I had a Nikon D200 recently
converted for IR photography and was eager to
try it out To begin with there were two important factors in the making of this image, one
was I wanted to keep people out of the scene,
the other was to ensure I had cloud behind the
monument as without any cloud the monument
would have been lost in the inky black sky. I had
to wait quite a while for a little bit of cloud to
appear and fortunately there was a small break
in crowds of people coming down the stairs,
seconds later and the moment was gone.
