Sunrise on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh

A shot taken in April 2014 when, after an early
morning start with the camera, I was making my
way up the Royal Mile to photograph the Castle.
Enroute, I just happened to turn around to witness
the most incredible scene before me – the pavement
leading right to the sun bursting from the side of the
clock tower, warm light being cascaded along the
length of the street, and the three iconic telephone
boxes literally lit up at the dawning of a new day. I
never made it to the Castle that morning, and that is
something I will never regret…..
