Claire Carter

2024 Highly Commended

Transient Light

Loch Urr, Glen Etive

A perfect day in The Highlands with ever changing light, occasional reflections and a small island catching the sun. Even the showers stayed on the mountains.

Canon R5, 16-35mm @ 18mm. 1/20th f/8 ISO 100

Cracks in the Ice

Lochan na h-Achlaise, looking across to Beinn Chaorach, Rannoch Moor.

A moody morning with brooding mountains and flurries of snow. The cracked ice providing lines for the eyes to follow and the rocks like minature mountains echoing those beyond.

Canon R5, 24-105mm @ 50mm 1/4 sec f/16 ISO 100

Ice Cascade

Looking towards Stob a Ghlais Choire and Creise across Glen Coe.

A bit of a slippery climb gave a different perspective on these frozen falls with the mountains catching the golden light of dawn.

Canon R5, 16-35mm @ 16mm. 0.8 sec f/16 ISO 200
