Knockan Outlook

Knock Crag, near Elphin, Assynt

Bright autumn morning light near the top of Knockan Crag. Looking southwest towards Lochan an Ais, Cul Beag and Stac Pollaidh. After days of low cloud, it was great to see some summits

Old boat by Loch Awe

Loch Awe, Assynt

Taken in between showers, next to one of the little islands on Loch Awe, near Ledmore, Assynt.

Nikon D850 24-120mm lens – 1/500sec @ f/11

Suilven and birch trees

Inverpolly, Assynt

Majestic Suilven rising above the “cnoc ‘n’ loch” landscape of Inverpolly. I liked the way the undulating line of scrubby birch trees seemed to match the summit line of the mountain.

Nikon D850 24-120mm lens 1/100 sec @ f/16
